Toronto's Legendary Horseshoe Tavern turns 70 this year! December 6th to be exact, but who says you cant party from September to December? The shoe opened its doors in 1947 and is still kicking today, this is a huge milestone for the bar/venue. As of late, most of the old haunts have been sold, destroyed and converted into concrete boxes (condos) or retail stores. The Queen street music scene has been dwindling so fast but as shoddy as it looks, at least the Shoe as we call it, is still standing.
Toronto's music elite joined the festivities of the Horseshoe's Anniversary book launch on Wednesday Sept 11th. Joanna was there to cover the festivities, huge thanks to her for being there when I cannot and of course the ladies at Listen Harder for always thinking of us. Below you will find a few shots including artists Stephen Stanley, Julian Taylor, Skydiggers and Harrow Fair. They were all on deck to celebrate the book launch ahead of Sun K's performance which you can find visuals of here!
